How do I raise my employee's wage?

This article explains how to increase an employee's wage in Salary.lu when only the salary amount changes without any contract modifications.

Use this procedure only for simple wage increases. If other contract details change (working hours, contract type, etc.), use the "Renew" method in the Contract tab instead.

Steps to raise an employee's wage

  1. Log in to your Salary.lu dashboard
  2. Go to the "Employees" section
  3. Click on the employee whose wage you want to increase
  4. Navigate to the "Contracts" tab
  5. Locate the active contract and click on the 3 vertical dots (⋮) next to it
  6. Select "+ Wage" from the dropdown menu
  7. Fill in the required fields
  8. Click "Create" to save the wage increase

When the wage increase takes effect

The wage increase will be applied starting from the effective date you specified.

Make sure to:

  • Set the correct effective date for the wage increase
  • Verify that the new wage amount is accurate
  • Generate new payslips for periods after the effective date

After creating the wage increase, the system will automatically use the new wage amount for all payroll calculations from the effective date forward.
