How do I set up two-factor authentication (2FA) on Salary.lu?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Salary.lu account. We strongly recommend all users enable 2FA to protect their account and sensitive payroll information.


Setting up 2FA on your account


To enable two-factor authentication:


  1. Log in to your Salary.lu account
  2. Navigate to "My profile"
  3. Locate the Security banner
  4. Click the "Enable" button
  5. Save your backup codes in a secure location
  6. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (see instructions below)
  7. Enter the six-digit code from your authenticator app
  8. Click "Verify" to complete the setup


Save your backup codes immediately after enabling 2FA. Store them in a secure location separate from your authenticator app. You will need these codes if you lose access to your authentication device.


Installing and using an authenticator app


You can use any authenticator app to set up 2FA. Popular options include:


  • Authy (recommended): Available for iOS and Android
  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • Other compatible authenticator apps


To scan the QR code:


  1. Install your chosen authenticator app on your phone
  2. In the app, select "Add account"
  3. Choose "Scan QR Code"
  4. Scan the barcode image displayed on Salary.lu
  5. The app will display a six-digit code
  6. Enter this code on Salary.lu and click "Verify"


The six-digit code changes every 30 seconds. Make sure to enter the current code displayed in your app.


Disabling 2FA


If you need to disable two-factor authentication:


  1. Go to "My profile"
  2. Navigate to the Security banner
  3. Click the "Disable" button
  4. Follow the prompts to confirm


Disabling 2FA will reduce your account security. We recommend keeping 2FA enabled at all times.


Troubleshooting and account recovery


If you lose access to your authenticator app:


  1. Use one of your saved backup codes to log in
  2. Once logged in, you can disable and re-enable 2FA with a new device


If you've lost both your authenticator app and backup codes:


  • Contact our support team via the Crisp chat on the platform
  • Or email us at info@salary.lu
  • Our team will help you regain access to your account


Keep your backup codes secure and accessible. Without them or your authenticator app, you will need support assistance to access your account.
