How do I set up the Mutuality Class and Bonus-Malus correctly?
This article explains how to configure mutuality class and bonus-malus factor settings for your company in Salary.lu, including default values for new companies and how to update them when you receive official documentation.
Default settings for new companies
If your company is in its first year, the system automatically applies these default values:
- Mutuality class: Class 2
- Bonus-malus factor: 1
These defaults remain active unless you receive specific instructions from the relevant authorities or update them manually.
Automatic updates for SECUline companies
As of 2025, companies using SECUline automatically receive the correct values from the CCSS. The system will apply these updates without manual intervention.
Manual updates when required
If you receive official documentation indicating changes to the mutuality class or bonus-malus factor, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Salary.lu account
- Navigate to the employee profile
- Scroll down to find the mutuality class and bonus-malus factor input fields
- Enter the updated values as provided by the relevant authority
- Save the changes
What happens if I don't update these settings?
For companies where values are not automatically received from the CCSS, the system will continue using the default settings:
- Class 2 for mutuality class
- Factor 1 for bonus-malus
These defaults will remain until you manually update them with official values.
Where to find the necessary details
You can obtain the required mutuality class and bonus-malus information through:
- Official letters from the CCSS (typically MDE + AAA documents)
- Direct email request to the CCSS asking for this information
