What if my employee changes their address?
When an employee changes their address, no action is required through Salary.lu. However, the process differs depending on whether the employee is a Luxembourg resident or a cross-border worker (non-resident).
For Luxembourg residents
Employee responsibilities
Luxembourg residents who change their address must:
- Go to their communal administration population office
- Declare their address change following the commune's procedures
- Ensure the declaration is completed promptly after moving
Automatic process
Once the resident employee has declared their address change:
- The communal administration processes the address change
- The address change is automatically communicated to the CCSS (Centre commun de la sécurité sociale)
- Information is transmitted to relevant administrations including the ACD
- The employee's tax card is automatically updated with the new address
For non-residents (cross-border workers)
Employee responsibilities
Non-resident employees who work in Luxembourg and change their private address can:
- Make a request to update their data directly via MyGuichet.lu
- Follow the online procedure for address updates
- Ensure the update is completed promptly after moving
Employer actions (same for all employees)
As an employer, you need to:
- Wait for the tax card to be updated by the ACD
- Download the updated tax card once it becomes available
- Add the new tax card to the employee's profile in Salary.lu
For self-employed persons
Self-employed persons who are changing their professional address must contact the CCSS via the contact page or via email.
