How do I add overtime hours on Salary.lu?

Managing employee overtime in Salary.lu is straightforward. This FAQ explains how to record overtime hours manually or through the Excel importer, covering both paid and unpaid overtime options.

Understanding overtime types

Salary offers two types of overtime:

  • Unpaid overtime hours – These hours are added to the employee's leave balance and do not appear as additional compensation on the payslip
  • Paid overtime hours – These hours are calculated as additional gross salary and appear in the payslip's "Designation" section

Adding overtime hours manually

To add overtime hours for an individual employee:

  1. Log in to your Salary account
  2. Navigate to the "Presences" section
  3. Click the "Add" button
  4. Select the employee from the dropdown
  5. Choose the activity type:
  • "Overtime hours" for unpaid overtime (added to leave balance)
  • "Paid overtime" for overtime paid in the salary
  1. Enter the date
  2. Enter the start time
  3. Enter the end time
  4. Add break duration if applicable (optional)
  5. Click "Add Presence" to add multiple overtime entries for the same employee
  6. Click "Create" to save all entries

The system automatically calculates the total duration based on start time, end time, and break duration.
